ANSWERING THE SCHOLARS CHALLENGE

It is argued by many scholars that Hindu and later Buddhist concepts and practices entered Mongolia from India and was adopted by its people. This is evidenced by the large number of Hindu-Buddhist words which are in use in the Mongolian vocabulary to this day.

I shall argue that the rudimentary concepts that underlie Hinduism and Buddhism began first in Mongolia, spread to India and the Orient, and eventually, when the original Shaman roots were removed and lost from Siberia, returned to Mongolia. Vague familiarity with the two disciplines made them welcome to the Native population.

This is a ‘bounce-back’ phenomenon.

THE VEDAS

Veda literally means ‘Divine Knowledge’.

The ‘Vedas’ are “four collections of prayers, hymns, and ritualistic formulae which contain the basic religious lore of the Hindus.” There are four Vedas: the Rg-Veda, the Sama-Veda (the ‘Chant Veda’), the Yajur-Veda (‘Prayers’ and ‘Spells’), and the Atharva-Veda.

The Hindu word Veda is traditionally defined as ‘knowledge’.

In the Mongolian language of Siberia, the word bête is officially defined as ‘ancient ancestors’. In the Legend of Abala, I have argued that these ‘ancient ancestors’ were a special group of disciples who learned to master the art of Eke Shamanism, the Shamanism of the Goddess. Their title, Bete, eventually came to represent the art of Eke Shamanism in general. Thus Bete meant ‘knowledge’, ‘shamanic knowledge’ to be precise.

It is from the earlier Mongolian Bête that the later Hindu Veda was derived.

As an example of ‘bounce-back’, we find that in the Mongolian language of Siberia, there is now the word ved which means Veda.
