In the Mongolian language of Siberia, the word bête is officially defined as ‘ancient ancestors’. In the Legend of Abala, I have argued that these ‘ancient ancestors’ were a special group of disciples who learned to master the art of Eke Shamanism, the Shamanism of the Goddess. Their title, Bete, eventually came to represent the art of Eke Shamanism in general. Thus Bete meant ‘knowledge’, ‘shamanic knowledge’ to be precise.
It is from the earlier Mongolian Bête that the later Hindu Veda was derived.
